This portrait of a traditional Native American Dancer was recorded on film over two decades ago. I am offering this stunning portrait for an extremely limited run of 100.
Dancing competitions serve as a meeting place for bonding, creating a sense of community and handing down traditions. Vanishing Traditions is a series of pow wow images taken over a five year period. The pow wow serves as one of the many threads of the overall tapestry for many Native American communities. The Art of Dance has immense significance on many levels. The Pow Wow serves to ensure the passing down of many traditions to future generations. This series of images was featured in the National Museum of the American Indian in Manhattan.
