As an art tutor i am very used to working with paintbrush in hand, but then there is the designer and photographer parts of me which spend a lot of time working digitally. I thought it's about time i try and combine those two worlds, explore something new. 2014 saw my first EVER creative block. For the first time in my life i wasn't inspired by a beautiful face, an extraordinary body or exquisite garments. Instead, i found myself obsessing over patterns, and i mean OBSESSING. Subconsciously doodling them whilst on the phone, researching patterns of different cultures, Mandala and henna patterns, overloading my Pinterest with a whole array of prints. And no matter how intricate and detailed some of the designs are, i noticed i was particularly drawn to simple shapes, circles, triangles... On a daily basis my imagination is fueled by the past. With my new found love of these shapes i kept being reminded of two old flames.... The 80's and Art Deco. This, my first 'release' of digital painting, is my salute to and an amalgamation of both. This is 'V on Top'. I hope you find it to be a 'happy picture'.
NB. Each print will be hand signed and numbered.
