Artist's description:

The Place Dampmartin stands just off the famous Place aux Herbes in the town of Uzes. Visitors collect around the restaurants and shops in the ancient pale stone buildings with their characteristic wide arches on the ground floor. The flag of the duke of Uzes flies from his fortress in the background. This is one of a series of paintings depicting Uzes in the brilliant summer light.
