Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

I'm researching endangered birds. The Uvea Parakeet. Uvea parakeets live in a forest on the island of Uvea in the Loyalty Islands, New Caledonia. They love to eat figs. I love this bird. He's such a perky, happy little thing with his big bright eye and his wacky hairdo!
I printed the linocut on Italian paper with black oil-based ink. Then, I went in with watercolors to bring out his gorgeous colors!

Materials used:

linoleum, oil-based ink, Italian Fabriano paper watercolor
