Artist's description:

Tumut River rises in the Kosciuszko National Park and waterfall is from the upper reaches of the River near Mt Jagungal. From this alpine location the river flows north along a major fault lineament which has produce some spectacular scenery. There are several dams along the Tumut River that form the western part of the Snowy Mountain Hydroelectric Scheme. This painting is based a photo by Harry Hill, a Tumut historian who has hiked throughout the region and written several books on Kosciuszko National Park.
