The print depicts the Upper Lake, Killarney, as viewed from the South-East of the lake looking North-West towards the MacGillycuddy Reeks. The area is part of Killarney National Park, on the Iveragh Peninsula of Kerry. It is also part of the well-known and picturesque Ring of Kerry, in Ireland.
