Original artwork description:

This painting came out of a dream in which I was shot and wounded in my home town of Belgrade. A British nurse turned up and gave me a blood transfusion which saved my life. I wanted to give a Caravaggiesque feeling to this image, a kind of a biblical atmosphere to evoke the universality of human desire to be rescued and saved.
