Artist's description:

Part of a series, made in the winter-early spring towards the end of Mardi Gras season. For this I used colors that reflected the early morning. The image is part of a series, I consider it a still/thumbnail/journal notation of a particular train of thought brought out by place and time. Sky 72 represents 6 am to 8 am late February through the first week of March in the French Quarter or walking on a levee next to the Bywater neighborhood of New Orleans. The number 72 is arbitrary and does not reflect it's position in an actual series but as a number reflecting different distinct moments of being within one experience.

Materials used:

watercolor, marker, pen, and graphite pencil
