Limited edition Solar Plate etching intaglio print of bubbles and reverse reflections of the seabed on the underside of the sea surface taken from under the water looking up whilst swimming in the North Sea -Part of a body of work which explores water as an artist and open water/ Channel swimmer from a unique perspective
I have a love and bond to the sea (swam the Channel in 2008) which forms the basis of much of my current photography and printmaking work . My work explores the feeling and sensations of being submersed , and immersed in the sensorial world of water.
Choosing to consciously submerge myself as a daily practice has led me toward keeping a submerged diary and photographic record wherein I collate daily the patterns and subtle changes of the water. Learning to acclimatize myself to the shifting moods of the water has led me to a deeper awareness of patterns, textures, waterline traces and colours that are revealed and experienced by my dwelling consciously within the habitat of water.
