Oil on canvas
By KSEE February 2017
Textured, and Layered Abstract Painting.
Sides are white to create a strong border with surface image and varnished for long term protection along with the painting surface.
Signed, dated, and titled on the verso/back of the painting.
The paints used in this painting were vintage 1960's oil colors by Grumbacher. Tools used to create the piece were brushes and a sponge on a gesso primed, gallery quality, heavy duty canvas stretched around 1.5" profile stretcher bars.
I believe in the communicative power of art. I like to explore the relationship that exists between image, colors, and texture within each piece created. I’ve always been a storyteller, using either words or images. I've worked in the field of comics books for many years and for the last 15 years in Hollywood. A tale is told in each of my works. Art has many effects. The reaction to any artwork is singular and unique for each human, as it is in the creation of the art. Entertaining, engaging, or enraging, the experience and effect define each human/art connection if one is to exist. Abstractions in the mind filter my perceptions. Art and human experience exist as one, together, inseparable. I create my art but it is each individual experience that defines it. Then we are together, in art and life.
