Original artwork description:

I am just preparing a large canvas for a Gallery in Carmel, CA.... This piece done on heavy Watercolor Paper is the study for the upcoming painting on canvas. People have always told me that I have a very "Illustrative" quality about my paintings... When I began Illustrating some of my own Chidrens Books a few years ago, I realized that the description was apt. This Study/ Illustration has, to me anyway, a Vintage Feel; characteristics akin to those Illustrations I was so impacted by as a child....The family depicted in Paris' Luxumbourg Gardens, is a throwback to my own family, around the time we moved to France 22 years ago. We spent an inordinate amount of time in this Parc, that still offers activities offered a century ago! The snapshot of the Jardin du Luxumbourg Picasso painted over 100 years ago, pictured children floating wooden boats on a pond; precisely my son's favorite pastime the year we arrived! We passed through and paused to see Puppet Shows or ride Ponies, several times each week walking from School back to our Apartment near the Eiffel Tower. Le sigh; the memories are too numerous to recount... And oh; one of my favorite French a films of all time, is "The Red Balloon", symbolized (obviously) by the Red Balloon in the clutches of the little Boy on Mama's lap.... This piece is done in Pencil, Acrylic, and Goache. It can easily be popped into a standard frame approximately 16" x 20". Or Message me if you would like me to frame it before shipping, at a cost of around $85.00...
