Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This drawing is about the attempts we as a race of creatures continue to make to halt the course of time - and the progress of nature. Here we see two trees on a barren outcrop of rock that has been underpinned with a rudimentary yet mildly fantastical scaffold in an effort to freeze the scene against the will of nature and time itself.
