Artist's description:

Two Days in Walnut Valley is a monotype print produced during the Walnut Valley Festival in Winfield, Kansas, on September 18, 2015. It was created while practicing a mindfulness meditation, a practice intended to increase awareness of one's experience from moment to moment.

I used automatistic mark-making while practicing this meditation. Developed by Surrealism artists like Andre Masson, automatism is a method of mark-making in which the artist works while not thinking about anything in particular in an effort to reveal the subconscious or unconscious.

Materials used:

Bone Black etching ink on Rives BFK paper
