Artist's description:

Two drawings made with a single and continuous 1 Line/brush stroke drawing each. Two for the price of one! On this occasion, I use a brush instead of a marker! This means that strictly speaking, it is not 1 line but 1 single brush stroke. Technically, this is extremely challenging for various reasons: the dilution of the ink must the optimal, the loading time & volume of the brush in the ink must be very accurate and correct in order to have enough ink to complete the drawing in one stroke... And all of this, I do it just by intuition. No maths, no protocol. Just challenge, fun, and experimenting!! I included 2 drawings (1 brush stroke each) in this artwork.

The drawings feature two moms with their respective babies. The brush trace is not as "clean" and easy to perceive as with a marker. Can you still see the image? ;-) The viewer's perception make part of teh artistic process!

I started doing this collection: "1 Line Babies" when I had my babygirl in February 2016. Obviously I do not have a lot of free time but it is one of the best experiences in my entire life. I breastfeed her and we love to share this intimacy, bond, love and ... it is also the best food for her! Very often I draw and paint while carrying her in a baby wrap sling. This choice can be demanding but for me it is fantastic!

The 1 continuous line is a very innovative, experimental and rather difficult to execute technique, where the chosen tool (in this case an ink marker) creates an image with a single trace. The markers is not lifted at all until the picture is completed. The technical challenge of this technique is remarkable, as the artist’s hand is on the visual area for most of the execution time, and no corrections are allowed! Then, I add watercolor to enrich the image and add depth. Information about the photos of the artwork displayed here: contrast and brightness may have been slightly modified, where applicable.
