Natural stone and the human form go hand in hand in my eyes. Each stone dictates the image within and Twisty Girl is no exception.
Twisty Girl started from a Life Drawing group in Stanwood WA. Her scapulae, owned by a friend of mine, gave me absolute fits. This piece is a combination of natural slate tile with a treatment of cold wax, pastel and oil pencil. This piece, as with all my work, is mutable with different light sources. I invite you to explore various approaches to find the right light to fit your mood and your surroundings.
