A classic garden urn surrounded by plants and vines in silhouette. This is a linocut handprint on Japanese Kozo paper which is chine colle'd to a base sheet of acid free white paper along with vintage songbird elements.
The chine colle process is an old technique of collaging to a base sheet using archival paste and then (traditionally) overprinted with an etching or relief plate.
I print plain Japanese paper (Kitakata usually) with various woodblocks that I have carved for other art-pieces. Along with these paper fragments in gorgeous garden-colored inks, I add antique bird engravings and handprinted midnight blue paper. It is a one of a kind print and is packed with a backboard in a cello sleeve.
acid free paper, handprinted Japanese paper, Japanese paste.
