Coral reefs and lichen inspire the forms and the piece has a real sense of this aliveness. Tumble Down and its sister piece Entangled are complex but harmonious explorations. These paintings are a celebration of wild nature and movement. The artist often takes her inspiration from nature and this painting is about complex interconnected ecosystems.
Movement is central to Genevieve Leavold’s practice and so if you look at the detailed images you can really see how the brushwork is layered in these very specific movements.
