Artist's description:

On a trip to Italy, I was shopping in an open market in Arezzo. A man was selling the old wood letters used in printing presses. I love the old unusual letterforms and the act of inking them and pressing them into paper. I did a series of works on paper using these wooden letters and numbers. This piece combines paint and hand lettering with the printer's letters to create a conversation across generations.

This piece is offered in a standard white 8" x 10" matte and ready for you to frame.

Materials used:

Acrylic and latex paint, and hand printed numbers from old wooden printers' type made in Italy.
