Artist's description:

The Galway Hooker is a traditional sailing boat used in Galway bay and further along the West of Ireland coast. Recently there has been a major revival in their construction and use and each year a regatta is held featuring races across Galway Bay from Connemara to Kinvara on the Clare border.
In the 19th century when Irish immigrants in the Boston area needed fishing vessels they constructed these 'Galway Hookers' with their distinctive deep red sails and pitch black wooden hulls which became known as Irish Cutters, or Boston Hookers.

This artwork is offered framed in an off-white solid wood scoop style frame. If you would prefer it unframed please message me and I can discuss a reduced price.

A signed Certificate of Authenticity included.
