Artist's description:

I was brought up in the remote village of Goathland and relished the freedom of being able to wander through and explore the craggy and magnificent North Yorkshire Moors. Its colours palette would change dramatically with the seasons and weather and each brought its own particular beauty. In this piece I am trying to capture the warm mauves of the heather against the beautiful russet bronze of the autumn bracken. It is still one of my favourite places to visit and I take my family there sketching and walking each year. I use acrylic high flow paint and texture mediums to create layers of colour and movement. The painting is framed with a bespoke subtle whitewashed 5cm x 5cm moulding which sets it off beautifully. It is sealed with matt archival varnish and is ready to hang with fixings and cord.

Materials used:

Acrylic high flow paint and collage.
