This began on Gwithian beach, looking towards the river mouth at Hayle. At high tide, the sea rushes in between large rocks on the sand and in the mark making I try to describe the movements and energy there. The palette comes from our soft Northern European light, particularly the golden sun, sand, jades, azures and blues of my local Cornish beaches.
The painting is framed in a contemporary white box frame; 72 x 91 cm.
