"Three Dens" is one from my newest series "Environmental Habits". An expressively painted portrait of a brown bear fills the foreground and contrasts with the layered blue and yellow background. Three hard-edged bright green squares are thickly applied creating texture and representing the chaotic struggle to secure one's habitat. The title adds to the question of what it means to have a habitat and the relationship between animal and man-who is forcing who out of their environment? As man tries to force nature into compact boxes, nature pushes man back into his own box. Framed, signed and ready to hang.
