Artist's description:

This image is one of my favorites, and I paint it over and over again - playing with the colours, the contrast, the cropping. It represents to me the things we notice when we move to a new place, as I snapped this photo outside a great little thrift shop in NE Portland soon after I moved here. It signified to me welcome and rest, something I'm still feeling four years later in the city of Roses
