Original artwork description:

I enjoyed painting this small still life for the challenge of capturing the intricate detail on this blue and white Chinese teapot, long been a favorite of mine, as well as achieving a sense of harmonious balance between that particular complexity (and the elegant shape of the pot), with the two other vessels and the roses. I believe I've managed to do that because of the intense color of the roses and the contrast between the aqua glass of the central vase, and the curvaceous shape (and patterns) of the smaller Japanese vase. The background is one of the colors that I find so magical to behold, made by blending titanium white and transparent orange, the result is reminiscent of a sunny morning. Signed and dated on in verso, this oil-on-panel work ships with a digitally-registered Certificate of Authenticity. It is framed in a mahogany three-inch wide plein air frame, the warm brown of which complements the golden background and that brings the 14x11 inch painting (35.5x28 cm) painting to an overall size of 20x17 inches (51x43 cm).
