A pastel drawing of this old magnificent lion.

The pride rushed up a long hill to reach this small pool of water while the lion who has damaged rear right leg limped up the hill to reach the pool from which he drank for ages.

This piece won first prize in the World Wildlife Category of the Association of Animal Artists summer exhibition in 2016 at Frodsham Cheshire, England.

As with all my wildlife paintings inspiration comes from my vast 30,000+ wildlife photo library.
