The Secret is another of the few remaining figurative works available from Joyce's portrait painting years of 2000 - 2016. This work was inspired by the contemporary woman's love for the 'little black dress' and its importance in the fashion world. Here the model is walking away from the viewer but looks back to glance. Is she keeping something from the viewer? The black dress with red sash against the yellow ochre background invites the viewer to ponder what is going on behind the scene.
This painting is created in oil on double primed canvas. The work is professionally framed in a black (wood) frame with gold inlay selected specifically for the piece (by the framer) to enhance the drama of the work. It is ready to hang with framed dimensions of 29.5" x 25.5" x 2.25"
The work has been sealed with Gamblin Gamar varnish for UV protection. The painting, signed on the front and back, will be sent with a certificate of authenticity
