Artist's description:

Still life, one of a series of paintings I did of the Screaming Skull of Bettiscombe, Dorset. It's a myth or legend of old england. I went to see it as a child and wanted to return and paint it almost as a portrait of this loaded object. It was a very contemplative few days and I enjoyed it very much. I love trying to capture something so delicate and fine, but with such variation in flat surfaces and colours.

Materials used:

oil paint , acrylic base, acrylic varnish
