Artist's description:

This piece is a reminder that even when we feel that we're not too special, we are special because we are who we are. We are the the best person at being who we are, and although it may not seem like it at times, that is incredibly unique and amazing. The piece is about individuality, and celebrating diversity and the authentic self. It's about coming to terms with who we are, and our ability to go from there to create a unique life.

This piece comes with a signed copy of one of my four novels.

I'm an American figurative expressionist painter. I spent the first half of my adult life writing fiction, and then began painting in 2008. I'm the author of five books, including four novels. My art often includes a strong sense of character and story. My primary subject is the complexity of women.

My work is influenced by fashion photography and a childhood spent immersed in the high-end interior design industry. My mother was a successful designer whose work was featured in publications such as Architectural Digest and Southern Living.

To better understand some of the underlying themes and emotional content that influence my art, read my (almost) memoir, Please Love Me, as well as my other books. It can be found on Amazon, along with my other titles.
