Artist's description:

This is part of a series of watercolours from 2015 that have been focusing on close ups of everyday, mundane objects that have been visually altered into something beautiful by time, decay and rust.
This is my painting of a padlock on the door of an abandoned Fisherman's Cottage atop the cliffs in Prussia Cove, Cornwall. I was so inspired by the contrast in colours and textures but also the play of light creating some very interesting shadows.
Earlier in 2015 this painting was awarded 'Highly Commended' in The Patchings Art Competition in collaboration with The Artist Magazine.
This is 40x59cm and painted in Daniel Smith artist quality watercolours on Bockingford paper.
