The new kirk/church, in Mabrook, Scotland, dates from the early 1800. The old church is much older. I can't imagine how many generations a family must live in town not to be referred to as 'newly arrived'!
The back of the church drew my attention because of the wonderful abstract shapes of the building against the sky and the textures of the stones.
Most of the headstones in the cemetery had family lineage, including what someone did for a living. My favorite listing was of James Blaen McDavid, Tailor & Kiltmaker, who died 21st May 2000 aged 81 years, Beloved husband of Margaret Muriel Milligan who died 14th March, 2012 in her 88th year.
I have not framed this yet so the framing dimensions are approximate. If you have a particular style of frame, please feel free to let me know.
