This is part of a series of watercolours from 2015 that have been focusing on close ups of everyday, mundane objects that have been visually altered into something beautiful by time, decay and rust.
I loved the greens and blues on this broken fence in my next door neighbour's garden. The way the thin wooden slats weave and how the shadows add a visual interest and pull the composition together.
It is 32 x 40cm and painted with Daniel Smith artist quality watercolours on Bockingford paper.
