The Negotiation, black palm cockatoo (2024) Original Watercolour by Tetiana Savchenko
50 x 35 x 0.1cm (unframed) / 40 x 30cm (actual image size)
£277.35
Original artwork description
Black Palm Cockatoo original watercolor diptych, realistic exotic bird painting, Australian wildlife art on white background. This matched pair of portraits captures the magnetic presence of one of the world's most striking parrots in meticulous watercolor detail.
These two were painted facing each other deliberately — a conversation frozen mid-sentence, two enormous crests raised like competing arguments. The deep slate-violet plumage, the bare rose-pink cheek patches, those amber eyes holding precisely the amount of eye contact that makes you slightly uncomfortable.
Neither one is backing down. This is not their first negotiation.
What drew me to this species was pure theatrical obsession — there is no bird that commands a room quite like a Black Palm Cockatoo. Every feather felt like a brushstroke worth every second.
Fun fact: Black Palm Cockatoos are one of the only animals known to use tools for rhythm — males drum sticks against hollow trees to impress females. The original rock stars.
Sold as a diptych. Original watercolor on archival paper. Signed by the artist.
