Artist's description:

Original, one of a kind painting in acrylic on stretched box canvas of Eurasian blue tits stealing the cream from milk bottle tops. (35x28x4) Finished in gloss varnish for added protection and durability. This work has painted borders so does not require a frame unless desired. Ready to hang. Signed on the front by artist and comes with certificate of authenticity.

We moved house last year and this was one of the first paintings I did once I was able to unpack all my arty paraphernalia. It was partly inspired by the abundance of bird and wildlife that visited our new garden, but also from memories of my mother in the 1980's. She became very frustrated with these little birds back in the time when milk was delivered by the milkman on his electric powered milk float. They used to raid our doorsteps in the wee hours looking for gold or silver top milk and fresh cream leaving the lid pitted with beak holes, cheeky fellows.
