I think this piece represents a new high-water mark for my technical painting ability, I'm really proud of it and hope you enjoy it. Original oil on wooden board, with a tasteful unpainted border. 12" x 12".

I work in a 'wet on wet' alla prima style. I enjoy painting most when the brushstrokes come freely and easily, and I can be in a flow state throughout the process of the painting. Luckily this gives the best results. My first port of call is the 'Zorn Palette', made famous by the Swedish master, Anders Zorn. Ivory Black, Titanium White, Cadmium Red, Yellow Ochre. More than any other, this team of pigments is perfectly equipped to emulate almost all flesh tones, and flesh is common among all of my subjects. If the painting requires it I will add more idiosyncratic paints to the mix.

My paintings are dispatched carefully packaged in a cardboard box, with packing inside the box to cushion the work during transit, sent via a tracked courier, insured to the value of the artwork.
