Artist's description:

With this series, I have been inspired by the beauty and majesty of the wild world. I like to find the expressive spirit of the different materials that I add to the painting, this is how I have been experimenting between abstraction and realism of subjects such as landscapes, portraits, animals, fruits and nudes. In this work of realistic style I explore the textures to highlight the eloquence of this feline dominating the different layers of colors that overlap with the use of drip technique, thus managing to recreate an attractive and exotic plastic reality in the animal's coat. I added dry plant residues to the composition of the Lion's image to deepen the wild or natural state and thus focus the proximity of his penetrating gaze. Finally there are those points of colors that bathe the lower part of their jaws; with it I get more spatiality and at the same time I print a naïve, childish and pleasant nostalgia for such a wild subject. It was carried out in 2014; it is not framed and is signed in front of and behind the canvas.

Materials used:

Acrylic and rubber paints applied by dripping, brush and spatulas and dry plant residues on canvas
