Briar Rose in the Language of Flowers means poetry and the miniature in the centre of the painting represents poetry, a young girl in a peaceful and beautiful setting relaxing and reading a book of poems. The painting also includes excerpts from poetry by Rupert Brooke. This also was included in an exclusive calendar for W H Smith.
