Unique contemporary mosaic The Kiss was inspired by the iconic 1st kiss of HRH Prince William & new wife Kate Middleton on the balcony at Buckingham Palace. The piece created in 2013 as the couple await the birth of the 1st child. The piece was created using 4,200 hand laid 1cm glass tiles. There is a 22ct gold tile (Bisazza) set 29 rows in & 4 rows up from the bottom right of the artwork. This relates to the date 29th of April the date of their wedding. The gold tile is a prominent feature in all of Alan's work, as he sets a single 22ct gold tile at random on all his artwork as a form of signature.
The piece measures approx 90cm x 79cm in it's frame, which is a lovely contemporary silver & gold frame.
