Original artwork description:

THE KING'S ASSEMBLY is the first act of Hamlet where the king is assembled with his attendants. He is giving Laertus permission to travel to France. Genya chose to paint a plain shiny background to recall Shakespeare's globus theatre simplicity.

This painting is for a collector that appreciates elegant figurative painting with a contemporary feel. Genya's work looks stunning over a mantle piece or in a sitting room where you can gaze and enjoy it.

It was finished in December 2020 in my studio in Umbria, Italy.
