Artist's description:

One day I decided I wanted to do a portrait, but I wanted to do a portrait of a woman of color because no one seems to do it very often. I waylaid the young woman and asked is she would pose for me and she acquiesced. She had a tiny smile on her face and as she looked at her phone it turned into the slightest look of resignation. Someone had hurt her feelings. I've attempted to capture the slight smile of flattery she had as well as that look she got when she glanced at her phone.
