One of two pieces made for 'Project 2012: The End of the World exhibition' held in London. The subject is derived from photographs of the detritus of everyday life: unwanted, obsolete, trash. It represents that which we leave behind; an artefact recovered from the archaeology of existence, bearing the trace and the residue of our passing. Although now discarded, this unremarkable object simultaneously evokes the spiritual and the material, transcending both its condition and banal functionality, while presenting a poignant reminder of human presence and activity.
