Artist's description:

This One of a Kind Contact Print was made using plant matter and pigments and steamed in hot water. This method of printing is known as Eco-printing. It captures the purest pigments from the plants, and "prints" them onto the silk. The results are difficult to control, there are always elements of surprise.

The oranges were produced using Onion skins, the blacks through oxidisation. the results are intriguing, contemporary and beautiful. This OOAK print is stretched on canvas and could be ready to hang. I like that the edges of the silk are visible. I think it adds a nice dimension to the work.

The name popped into my head as I framed this. It reminds me of movement, wind, a little strife and the unpredictableness of nature and the weather.

Materials used:

silk, plant matter, plant pigments
