A hare visits my garden on most days. I tried to make several sketches of him to capture its joie-de-vivre, but a crow kept appearing in all of these. Finally I had to give in, and include this pesky crow in my print. The crow and the hare seem to be having an intimate conversation, creating a quirky, whimsical illustration that is bound to make anyone smile. This is an idyllic spring scene and I have tried to create a sense of movement and the gentle evening breeze.
This is a linocut, created from my original design and sketches that I transferred to the lino and then each print was inked and printed by hand, making each print unique and original. This particular edition is in midnight blue using oil-based inks on smooth Zerkall printing paper.
The print is sent loose and unframed in a reinforced envelope with an attractive wrapping and mount board backing. It has a generous margin and so should fit most standard frames.
This would be great for nursery decor, bring a freshness, and also research has shown that blue is perfect for little minds, calming while also stimulating them. It would also be great present for christening or for new baby. Or, as a quirky whimsical artwork for a country cottage, with the blue complementing any colour scheme.
Framed ready to hand print also available as shown in the image. Please message me for prices. It is a flat white wooden frame of appx 25 X 30 cm size.
This design is also available in charcoal grey if you would like a classic look in black and white: https://www.artfinder.com/product/tete-a-tete-the-hare-and-the-crow/
