Artwork description:

"The Handmaid's Tale" is part of my "Books I've Never Read" series, which takes classic, acclaimed book titles, ranging from the cult to the popular- those books which I feels I ‘really should have read’-and attempts to interpret their themes and narratives based on reading only the back-cover blurb.

With this project I aim to engage those who have read the titles and may recognise familiar imagery relating to their consciousness and memory of the novel and it’s themes, as well as too inspire those who have not read the books to do so, perhaps others will wonder ‘what the hell was was I thinking’! The next stage of the project after drawing the books ‘blind’ is to actually read them.

The Handmaid's Tale was written by Margaret Atwood.

Created from my original pen and ink drawing which is then used to produce a hand pulled screen print using black gloss water based ink onto smooth Somerset Satin, traditional white printmaking paper 330gms, mould made from 100% cotton which shows the colours and the print to a high quality.

This original print is part of a limited edition of 25 prints and is supplied unframed.

Print size is A2 - 420mm x 594mm

Please note that due to the nature of the printing process, there may be very slight variations between the images and print received. This is a feature of printmaking and makes each print truly unique.

Each print will be carefully packaged for safe delivery.

Item ships from UK.
