Artist's description:

This is a traditional Chinese painting in meticulous or court style. However, I used this technique to paint in the Dutch golden age still life style. In those golden age still life, you see luscious flowers accompanied with worms and skulls. It seems to warn the audience that there are always life and death, even in the golden age.

That's what I want to show in this painting. Peony is the national flower of China. I want to show that China is like the flowers blooming now, but the decayed flowers tells us the golden age will not last forever.
