Acrylic paint on a roughly 15 3/4 X 15 3/4 inch wood panel. I found myself out of canvases and HAD to paint. So, I found this board in the garage and started painting on it. It is an uncommon size and will need framed professionally due to the size. This is the first wood panel painting for me. I enjoyed the experience of painting on wood and in the near future, plan to continue paintings on wood that follow theme, both visual and emotional, of this painting.
This is a series of paintings that are painted on wood and have the same themed setting. The theme is not as regiment as Rothko's multi-forms. Instead the hope is that the pieces instill a sense of silent lonely places. I can't think of a more solitude place than a ghost town.
This series is not intended to be sad or depressing, but instead reflective and inward-looking.
