Without bees we're in trouble.
To highlight this, and raise awareness generally, Artfinder has teamed up with Friends of the Earth in support of the Great British Bee Count and the Bee Cause campaign.
My first contribution to this campaign is The Gardener's Friend, a beautiful, busy bumble bee working away pollinating lavender. I painted this lovely little creature on a wonderfully aged book page aptly entitled Amateur Gardening dating from the late 1800s. The page is dark with aged patina. In places it is so thick it has worn off to reveal lighter patches beneath, I love this aged effect and to preserve it I carefully prepared the painting surface using painting mediums and gesso before I started creating my artwork.
I have mounted the painting in a soft white textured mount and framed it in a lovely distressed chunky wooden frame.
Your painting will be sent via Royal Mail special delivery in the UK and Parcelforce's tracked and signed for service overseas.
