This art piece is part of a series of charcoal works I've created to examine and discover the lines, shapes, shades, shadows and beauty of the human form in movement. I base my charcoal works off people who pose for me, then add a sense of movement and looseness through the movement of the soft dark charcoal lines and smudges on the vibrant white A3 paper (110gsm).
These art pieces are focused on my interests in the philosophies behind 'existentialism'. I am fascinated in the small degree of separation between humans and other living forms. With this, I also want to push the acceptance of nudity. We as a society are happy to allow violence to be depicted in television, cartoons and news, though will sensor the all evil nipple! Our skin tells the story of our journey in life and should be celebrated.
