Avocets are beautiful birds with their black and white plumage and their blue legs. Their graceful curving beaks are incredibly pretty and they were described on Springwatch as the 'Audry Hepburn of the bird world'. I think that's pretty apt.
I saw some close up at Bird Land in Bourton and was inspired to paint a series of them.
I have framed them in a white grained chunky wooden frame, which sets off the picture and used an extra deep mount in keeping with the simplicity of the painting (in my opinion, at least!). The cost here is for unframed, as I am concerned about sending glass through the post, but if you are interested in them framed and ready to hang and are willing to take the risk on the glass (I haven't had one break and I have got a load of bubble wrap), then let me know and I can give you a quote with the frame and send a photo...
Remember, all watercolours need to be framed under glass and you should not hang them in direct sunlight or in humid conditions. I'm sure you know this, but it is worth saying just in case!
