Question for the artist?

Artist's description:

This painting is a commentary on the horror and pain that any addition causes people. Addiction is a disease unlike any other in that it involves all those about the sufferers. It strips a person of everything and still wants more, it is a curse on humanity, destroying more lives than anything else. I wanted to convey the pain and grotesque mess cause by addiction. The twisted figures are metaphors for the different depths this illness takes people to.
