This delightful mixed media fairy statuette is hand felted using merino tops and roving, hand embelished with embroidery silks, miyuki glass beads and is sat on polystyrene base for stability and ease of display.
I named her the Cornflower fairy, as the blue of her skirts reminds me of the cornflowers at the edge of wheat fields, which used to fascinate me as a little girl. For me, she evokes memories of hot, rustic summers and endless ease, that heralded my childhood.
I left her face features out deliberately, so you can imagine her just the way you want her to be.
The fairy is signed at the base, and will come with her own certificate of authenticity.
